National Art Honor Society

The National Art Honor Society of Fort LeBoeuf High School is an opportunity for serious art students to meet and work together toward common goals. It allows students the opportunity to practice their art skills and create their own self-directed artwork. It also encourages students to collaborate on special projects to promote art.

Student Activities

  • NAHS promotes art within the school district and the local community, as members plan talent shows, work on special art projects, assist with the set up of student art exhibitions and displays, and participate in local and regional art competitions.
  • Our activity originated the school talent show “Scones & Microphones”. The fundraiser helped to raise money for the Waterford and Summit Food Pantries, the NAHS Scholarship Fund, and art materials for NAHS activities.
  • Our recent activities have included a booth at the Relay for Life where the students created and sold handmade jewelry and wallets.
  • For three years NAHS has celebrated the holiday season with “Art for Christmas”. The students hold a Hot Cocoa sale to raise funds for the NAHS Scholarship Fund and art materials for NAHS activities. The students also collect art supplies to be distributed to local agencies, such as: Inner-City Neighborhood Art House and the Waterford Food Pantry Toy Drive.
NAHS Field Trip
  • The NAHS Field Trip is an opportunity to provide cultural enrichment to students. In years past the trips have included visits to Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Buffalo, Akron, and Erie. The field trips provide an opportunity for students to experience unique museum environments. The trip occurs on a Saturday to ensure that students will not miss a day of school.
NAHS Activities
  • Students are also encouraged to create a project for the school to promote art. This year the students hope to create a special banner to celebrate academics, sports, and the arts.
